U.S. Urged to Take Hands off Korean Issue

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Deirdre Griswold, member of the Secretariat of the National Committee of the Workers' World Party of the United States of America who doubles as editor-in-chief of its organ The Workers' World, made public an article recently. Referring to the U.S. ceaseless exercises for a war of aggression against the DPRK, he said: Korea was divided into the north and the south. North Korea is striving for socialist construction while south Korea has reduced to an area supplementing cheap labor power for the U.S. multinational corporations. All Koreans in the north and the south are aspiring after the country's reunification. The U.S. military occupation of south Korea disturbs the efforts to heal the pain of division. It serves as the source of escalating tensions between the north and the south. The DPRK has long demanded the conclusion of a peace agreement with the U.S. and withdrawal of its troops from south Korea for the reunification of the country. Progressive anti-war movement should continue in order to put an end to the grave situation prevailing on the Korean peninsula. He urged the U.S. to take hands off the Korean issue, stop war threats to the DPRK and conclude a peace treaty with it as early as possible. -0-
