U.S. vice president says presence in Turkey is not a coincidence

ISTANBUL (A.A) - The U.S. vice president said on Saturday that their presence in Turkey was not a coincidence. Joe Biden said Turkey grew by three-folds in the last decade, and raised its exports by four-folds. Income per capita had a significant rise in Turkey in the mentioned period, Biden said during the Second Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Istanbul. Biden said families could offer a better life to their children today, and Turkey was one of the most important economies in the world. The U.S. vice president said Turkey aimed to become one of the top ten economies in the world in 2023, and expressed thought that the United States, Turkey and countries that preferred freedom of expression could build the future altogether. Biden also said entrepreneurs could not be successful unless governments took freedom of thought and expression under guarantee. The Second Global Entrepreneurship Summit is taking place at Istanbul Harbiye Convention Center between December 3 and 6 under the theme of "Entrepreneurship, Values and Development: A Global Agenda". The summit brings together 2,000 successful entrepreneurs from Turkey and throughout the world. It is the follow-up of the "Entrepreneurship Summit" hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington on  April 26-27, 2010. The summit aims to allow entrepreneurs to develop closer relations, cooperation and dialog among different cultures and societies and will provide a unique opportunity for creating networks and exchanging different ideas.
