USAID supports Diplomatic Protocol and Negotiation Skills course in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Jan. 30 /Trend H.Hasanov/ Today the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, launched a five-day course entitled "Diplomatic Protocol and Negotiation Skills," designed to highlight the best international practices in diplomacy and diplomatic protocol, a report of U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat said on Wednesday. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and United States Ambassador to Turkmenistan Robert E. Patterson opened the event by welcoming course participants and expressing their mutual support for such cross-cultural learning opportunities. Over the next several days, five leading specialists from the United States and the International School of Protocol and Diplomacy in Belgium will share their expertise on diplomatic procedures, etiquette, and essential negotiating skills with officials from various, local government agencies. The course, which falls under USAID's Governance Strengthening Project, is being conducted for over sixty participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Development, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Communications.
