Vahidi: Germany Plundering Mideast Nations' Resources By Arms Sales

Tehran, Mar 3, IRNA - Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Saturday that German the defense minister admitted plundering the Middle East nations by arms sales magnifying threat from Iran. This is while Iran advocates good neighborly relations in the Middle East, added Vahidi. Vahidi made the remarks in reaction to admission by German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere that German government encourages arms sales to the Middle East nations including the Arab states to thwart threat from Iran . Vahidi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran advocates good neighborly relations in the Middle East. He said that the admission made by the German defense minister unveiled the awful attitude of the western governments toward Iran and indicated that sales of billions of dollars of weapons by US, UK, Germany and France is to serve the western interests as well as the Zionists regime and has nothing to do with nations of the region. Vahidi said that the admission also indicated that the western governments highlight human rights issue in the Middle East countries as an instrument to stir desperation among the governments of the Middle East encouraging them to sign major arms deals. It also became evident that why they have promoted Islamophobia to attain their goals. They resorted to the strategy of divide-and-rule in the Persian Gulf region to serve Zionists, he said.
