Velayati : Iran Can Guide Other Countries

Isfahan, Sept 8, IRNA – A senior politician, Ali Akbar Velayati, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in such a position today that can guide other world countries. Velayati, the International Affairs Advisor of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in Isfahan on Thursday night while referring to the fact that Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution inspired the Islamic awakening movements in the Middle East and North Africa. Referring to the meetings between Ayatollah Khamenei and visiting leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries in Tehran, he pointed out that NAM leaders had told Ayatollah Khamenei that Iran should lead NAM. Velayati noted that some NAM leaders were of the opinion that after Iran's taking charge of NAM, the movement's objectives would be fulfilled./end
