VICE SPEAKER RECEIVES DELEGATES OF NORTH KOREAN LEGISLATURE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Vice Chairman of the State Great Khural and head of the Mongolia-DPRK Parliamentary group R.Gonchigdorj received August 5 a North Korean delegation led by the country’s Supreme People’s Assembly member Thae Hyong-chol. The latter is the head of DPRK-Mongolia Parliamentary group in the Supreme People’s Assembly, the Minister of higher Education and the director of Kin Il Sung University. He thanked the Mongolian parliament members for their time, and said that the delegation’s visit aims at getting acquainted with Mongolia’s economy and society, as well as at upgrading the inter-parliamentary relations. Expressing his satisfaction with the stable and mutually-beneficial friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mr Gonchigdorj highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the parliamentary groups. He noted that this visit of Mr Thae Hyong-chol is of great significance in strengthening the bilateral relations in education and culture. Also, the visit to Mongolia of the Chairman of DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly Choe Thae-bok in 2012, the Northeast Asian Women Parliamentarians Forum held in Ulaanbaatar in 2013, and the visit of the Vice Speaker R.Gonchigdorj to the DPRK in 2014, were very important, he stressed. Mr Gonchigdorj proposed to conduct more frequent interactions between the parliamentary friendship groups and to build cooperation between the parliament secretariats. Present at the meeting were, members of the Mongolia-DPRK group O.Baasankhuu and D.Oyunkhorol MPs, and the Ambassador of Mongolia to DPRK M.Ganbold.
