Vienna hosts concert entitled “Musical journey along the Silk Way”

Vienna, April 18, AZERTAC Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Vienna has hosted a concert entitled “Musical journey along the Silk Way”. Addressing the event, head of the Center Leyla Gasimova hailed the organization of the concert in such a venue, which “represents Azerbaijani culture in Europe”. She noted that from ancient times “Azerbaijan has kept an important position between the East and West, Europe and Asia, and main trade routes passed through the country”. “That is why the Azerbaijani Cultural Center backed this musical project, which covers the countries of the trade routes,” she added. Gasimova said the main objectives of the Center included popularization of Azerbaijani culture in Europe and realization of joint projects with foreign culture and art figures. Opera singer Yekaterina Potego expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani Cultural Center for supporting the concert. Director of the project Edith Bachkoenig hailed development of Silk Way countries, and spoke of how the idea to organize the concert was born.
