Vietnam hopes for enhanced all-around ties with DPRK

Hanoi, November 30 (VNA) – Vietnam wishes to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), said Minister of National Defence General Phung Quang Thanh. At his talks with visiting DPRK People’s Armed Forces Minister General Pak Yong Sik in Hanoi on November 27, Thanh stated his country always treasures its time-honoured relations with the DPRK. He said the DPRK delegation’s visit will contribute to consolidating and promoting the traditional friendship between the two Parties, States, armies and their people. For his part, Minister Pak Yong Sik highlighted the increasing development of bilateral ties, affirming that this is a valuable asset that needs to be nurtured and fostered in the coming time. The ministers confirmed their desire to continually reinforce the traditional friendship between the two countries, bringing benefits to their people and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region. They agreed to continue maintaining the traditional ties through increasing the exchange of delegations and language learners as well as promoting cooperation in education-training, museum, library, culture and sport. The two sides also compared notes on issues of mutual concern and reviewed cooperation between the two armies in recent time. Minister Pak Yong Sik is on an official visit to Vietnam from November 25-28 at the invitation of Minister Phung Quang Thanh.
