Vladimir Churov: Head of OSCE/ODIHR took private and illegal decision not to send observation mission to Azerbaijan

Baku, October 15, AZERTAC. A delegation led by Russia’s CEC Chairman Vladimir Churov will monitor the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on November 1, 2015 as part of the international mission, AZERTAC learnt from Russia’s CEC. "From the standpoint of international observation mission, the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be characterized by the absence of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. The ODIHR Head took a private illegal decision not to send observation mission to Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, it is contrary to the relevant documents of the organization," Churov said. Earlier in September Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Michael Georg Link announced that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will not observe the November 1, 2015 parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
