VP: Iran To Expand Ties With Afghanistan New Govt

Tehran, Sept 29, IRNA – Vice-President in Executive Affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari said Iran is ready for economic participation in Afghanistan, adding that Iran will expand ties with the new government of Afghanistan. According to the report of Presidential Office website, Shariatmadari attends the oath taking ceremony of Afghanistan new president on behalf of President Rouhani. During his one-day visit to Afghanistan, Shariatmadari will meet with new president, Executive Chairman of the new government Abdullah Abdullah as well as the outgoing president Hamid Karzai. On the eve of paying a visit to Afghanistan, the VP praised the agreement in Afghanistan and said the country showed it is able to leave problems behind. He added that peace, stability and tranquility in Afghanistan have always been supported by Iran. Shariatmadari said that peace in Afghanistan makes it possible to have more economic and technical cooperation with this country. /end
