WB PERMANENT REP INTRODUCES PROJECTS TO STANDING COMMITTEE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A head of the parliamentary Standing committee on state structure A.Bakei Wednesday received Mr James Anderson, the Permanent Representative of the World Bank (WB) to Mongolia. Mr Bakei said he is satisfied with a re-appointment of the WB of Mr Anderson to Mongolia and hoped that Mr Anderson will work here fruitfully and will not face any difficulties because he had worked before here in times of transmission period. Thanking the Standing committee head for the audience, Mr Anderson spoke about projects to be realized by the WB in Mongolia, including the Third phase of the Sustainable livelihood, “E-health”, “Smart government” and “Reforms in education quality”, and asked Bakei to have related Standing committees discuss these projects and to have parliament ratify them. Mr Bakei promised to accelerate the ratification of the projects. Benefits of the previous phases of the “Sustainable livelihood” project went to every person in rural areas. The Third phase of this project will focus on refining upon the local governance. The “E-health” project aims to improve unity of health information system and to create E-solutions for delivering health services to selected areas. The “Reforms in education quality” project has a purpose of improving a quality of primary education by making the reading and mathematics subjects more fruitful and upgrading concentration skills of pupils. The “Smart government” will support smart governance and initiatives and will improve the adequacy, transparency and benefits of the state services by using information and communication technologies.
