We are lucky to be working with a country like Turkey, says Macedonian Ambassador

ESKISEHIR (A.A) - November 24, 2011 - Macedonian Ambassador in Ankara, Goran Taskovski, said Thursday that they were lucky to be working with a country like Turkey. Speaking at the Turkish-Macedonian Business Forum held at the Chamber of Commerce of the central Anatolian province of Eskisehir (ETO) on Thursday, Ambassador Taskovski said that they were lucky to be working with Turkey as Turkey was the fastest growing economy in the region. Turkey and Macedonia share excellent relations. We cooperate with Turkey in all fields, Taskovski underlined. Our prime ministers have expressed a desire to boost economic relations. We are taking the necessary steps in that direction. Firstly, we brought together our businesspeople. Our goal is to reach an economic target of 1 billion euros with Turkey. Turkey is the country with most investments in Macedonia, Taskovski said. ETO Chairman Harun Karacan, in his part, said that Macedonia was an extremely important country for Turkey from a social and economic perspective. I am happy to welcome Ambassador Taskovski to our chamber again. Turkey and Macedonia share historic and cultural ties. It has been two decades since the Republic of Macedonia declared their independence. Turkey has recognized Macedonia's independence. It is high time that we work with Macedonia. We, as Turkey, need to work with every country if we aim to make the Turkish economy one of the 10 biggest economies of the world in the year 2023, the year when the Republic of Turkey would celebrate the 100th anniversary of its establishment. Today, we have brought together businesspeople from Turkey and Macedonia. During the next two days, we will tour the factories. Later on, we will have a trip to Macedonia, Karacan said. Turkish and Macedonian businesspeople are currently holding discussions in Eskisehir.
