West Aware Of Iran’s Influence On Int’l Developments: Russian Official

Tehran, April 9, IRNA – The managing director of the Center for Iranian Studies in Russia said here on Sunday that Iran plays a crucial role in changing world equations and the West is aware of this. Talking to IRNA, Rajab Safarov added that the leaders of the West and the US are not glad to see the objectives being pursued by Iran such supporting the oppressed nations. Therefore, they are looking for an excuse to oppose Iran, particularly its peaceful nuclear activities. They accuse Iran of attempting to build nuclear bombs but their goals are political, he said. Safarov further noted that in addition to that, the West is trying to divert the public opinion away from its internal problems by mounting pressure on Iran. Underlining the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, he said that even the intelligence services of the US, Britain and Zionist regime do know this but they are not willing to admit that. “If Iran stops all its nuclear activities, the West will seek another excuse to continue pressures on Iran,” he said./end
