'West seeking revenge on Syria for Islamic Awakening'

TEHRAN, April 7 (MNA) – The leader of this week’s Friday prayers in Tehran said that the West and certain reactionary Arab figures are seeking to take revenge on Syria for the defeats they have recently suffered due to the Islamic Awakening in the region. Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said, “The United States and the Zionist regime are observing that after the Islamic Awakening, their desired rulers have been ousted, so they want to foment unrest in Syria, but fortunately the Syrian government has strongly resisted.”
