West's Sanctions On Iran Oil Will Backfire - MP

Boroujerd, Lorestan Prov, July 9, IRNA – A member of Iranian Majlis (Parliament) said here on Monday that Western countries' sanctions on Iran’s oil would actually harm themselves. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told IRNA that the western economic situation is now critical and sanctions against Iran’s oil would worsen it. He reiterated that the Iranian nation will not withdraw from its legitimate rights. The Islamic Republic of Iran has turned the sanctions into opportunities, thanks to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian officials, noted the MP. Boroujerdi reiterated that the US has excluded the names of several countries from its sanctions list, stressing that the move indicates that imposing sactions on Iran was a failure./end
