World Parliament Speakers To Attend Islamic Confab In Tehran : MP

Tehran, Jan 22, IRNA – A senior member of Majlis said Wednesday that 29 parliament speakers from the world states have expressed readiness to attend the 9th Conference of the Speakers of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that speakers of almost all Persian Gulf littoral states will participate in the event. Boroujerdi described the conference as important regarding the current situation in the World of Islam as well as global crises and expansion of terrorism. The conference is slated for February 14-18. Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has 53 members./end
