WORLD SPEAKERS ADOPT DECLARATION ON BUILDING WORLD PEOPLE WANT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker of parliament Mr Z.Enkhbold and accompanying him delegation S.Batbold and Ts.Oyungerel MPs were invited on Wednesday to adopt a declaration of the World Parliament Speakers on Building the world the people want. The Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament culminated with the adoption of the Declaration on “Placing democracy at the service of peace and sustainable development: Building the world the people want” by about 180 parliamentary speakers and vice-speakers from nearly 140 countries. The World Conference of Speakers of Parliament takes place every five years, to examine ways to effectively tackle global challenges to peace and democracy and this year's Declaration reaffirms the role of parliaments in the implementation of the SDGs and of the broader post-2015 development agenda and reaffirmed the principles of the Universal Declaration on Democracy.
