Yemen Responsible To Punish Killers Of Iranian Diplomat: Official

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs, in reaction to assassination of Iranian diplomat in Yemen, said Sanaˈa government is responsible to identify and punish perpetrators of this crime. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also warned countries that support Takfiris not to play with fire. He added that Yemen government is responsible to protect Iranian citizens and diplomats and it is necessary to investigate the issue of martyr Assadi assassination. Body of the Abolqassem Assadi, who was assassinated in Sanaˈa last Saturday, arrived in Tehran on Monday morning. Assadi, 57, financial and consulate officer of Iranˈs embassy in Sanaˈa was assassinated by gunmen in the center of the city on Saturday. Foreign Ministry, in a statement, by condemning the terrorist act, called for serious investigating of the case, trial and punishment of the perpetrators of such an inhuman act. Yemen charge dˈaffaires in Tehran was summoned to Foreign Ministry and received Iranˈs strong protest concerning the terrorist act. The funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM./end
