Yemeni FM promises to follow terrorist attack incident

Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA – Yemen Foreign Minister Abdullah al-Saaidi, in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, condemned the terrorist attack in Sana'a and underlined that he will seriously follow the issue. According to the Foreign Ministry Media Department on Wednesday, al-Saaidi contact was after a blast near Iran's ambassador's residence in Sana'a, capital of Yemen. In the explosion, one of local guards of the embassy and a kid were killed and part of residence wall was demolished. In the talk, Zarif, by referring to terrorist acts in the past one year against diplomats and diplomatic buildings, reminded international conventions and agreements and asked his Yemeni counterpart to act decisively according to their duties for maintaining security of diplomats and diplomatic buildings. He also expressed concern over releasing process of Iranian kidnapped diplomat Nour Ahmad Nikbakht, who was kidnapped one and half year ago by unknown groups. He called for serious action of the Yemeni government to free the diplomat promptly. Abdullah al-Saaidi expressed regret on the incident and expressed hope that Nikbakht be released soon./end
