Yudhoyono To Attend Three Bilateral meeting In Seoul

Seoul, March 26 (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will hold three bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Norway and Denmark on the sidelines of the first day of a series of the second nuclear safety summit in Seoul, South Korea, Monday. Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said here on Monday that the bilateral meeting will begin at 14:00 local time. President Yudhoyono will start bilateral talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Marty said. According to Marty, Indonesia and Pakistan will strengthen cooperation in various fields, including trade which has now reached 1.1 billion U.S. dollars and combating terrorism. "We are very appreciates the cooperation over the years, such as the latest cooperation of Umar Patek repatriation," Marty added. Besides, both countries will also strengthen cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, he said. Yudhoyono`s second bilateral meeting is scheduled to meet the Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. "What really stands out is the cooperation in the environmental field, especially for the climate change," said Marty. Norway is a partner of Indonesia in implementing programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation or known as the REDD+, Marty noted. In the evening, Yudhoyono will hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning Schmidt. The second nuclear safety summit will be held on 26-27 March 2012. On the first day, participants were scheduled to attend the summit`s official welcoming ceremony at 16:30 am local time, followed by a dinner at 18:30 pm local time at the National Museum of Korea. The summit is participated by 53 countries leaders and representatives of international organizations, namely the United Nations, International Atomic Energy Agency and the European Union . Besides, based on the approval of the summit`s participating countries and international organizations, the Interpol also attends the event.
