Zaif lashes out at jubilant Donald Trump after sanctioning Turkey

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has condemned the US president’s jubilation after inflicting economic sanctions on Turkey. “Trump's jubilation in inflicting economic hardship on its NATO ally Turkey is shameful,“ Zarif has just tweeted in a reference to the recent sanctions imposed by the United States government on Turkey, causing a sharp decline in the value of Turkish Lira against foreign currencies. “The US has to rehabilitate its addiction to sanctions and bullying or entire world will unite—beyond verbal condemnations—to force it to,” the Iranian foreign minister warns the US administration of the consequences of its hostile economic policies. At the end, Zarif promises Turkey that Iran will support the neighboring country in the face of the US sanctions, saying “we’ve stood with neighbors before, and will again now.”
