Zarif Calls For Expansion Of Iran-Belarus Ties

Tehran, March 17, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said here Sunday that Iran is a reliable and long-term partner for Belarus. In a meeting with his Belarussian counterpart Vladimir Makei, Zarif said Iran is ready for all-out expansion of ties with Belarus. Tehran-Minsk ties are long-standing and based on political independence and interests of both states, he added Both countries enjoy abundant potentials for political, economic, cultural, scientific and international cooperation. Zarif added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for development of economic cooperation and export of technical and engineering services. Stressing importance of holding joint economic commission sessions, Zarif said grounds are available for mutual cultural cooperation. He said mutual consultations and at international organizations such as the Non-Aligned Movement, are needed. Pointing to upcoming visit of Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani to Belarus, Zarif highlighted importance of bilateral parliamentary cooperation.
