Zarif: Double standards strengthen terrorism

TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s FM has said wrong policies and double standards have strengthened terrorism and extremism in the region. Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Australian counterpart said that the wrong policies and lack of unified strategy fighting extremism emboldened it in the Middle East. Julie Bishop and Mohammad Javad Zarif met on Saturday in New York and discussed regional and international developments, recent developments in Iraq, actions by terrorists and extremists groups in the ME, recent crisis in Ukraine and some bilateral issues. Zarif expressed satisfaction for political process in Iraq and establishment of a new government saying that the Islamic Republic seriously seeks to expand ties with this neighboring country and will help with security and stability in Iraq. He further said that double standards towards terrorism embolden it in the region and wrong policies through last years strengthen it while a unified strategy is needed to fight this anti-human phenomena. Iranian foreign minsiter and nuclear negotiators hav ebeen in New York for some days to talk with the G5+1 group on Tehran nucelar program.
