Zarif Hopes For Further Enhanced Iran-Iraq Ties

Baghdad, Aug 24, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hoped for more elevated relations between Tehran and the new government in Baghdad. He made the remarks here on Sunday in a meeting with the new Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. The minister said Iran attached strategic importance to ties with its neighboring country. He said Tehran-Baghdad relations kept growing during the former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and hoped the same would happen with the new government in office.
