Zarif: Iran Attaches Great Significance To Boosting Ties With Neighbors

Baghdad, Sept 9, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that his choosing Iraq as the first foreign state to visit indicates Iran’s interest in promoting bilateral ties with its neighbors. He made the remarks in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, Hoshyar Zebari in Baghdad Sunday afternoon. After the meeting, they are scheduled to take part at a joint news conference. Heading a high-ranking delegation, Zarif arrived in Baghdad Sunday morning on a day-long visit. Earlier, he discussed issues of mutual interest with Prime Minister of Iraq Nuri al-Maliki and the Iraqi acting president Khazir Al-Khazai./end
