Zarif, Nasrullah Call For Lifting Gaza Siege

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrullah in a telephone conversation on Sunday underlined the need for fulfillment of Gazansˈ demands, especially removal of siege on defenseless inhabitants. In the phone conversation, they also discussed the latest regional developments including the humanitarian disaster in Gaza Strip. Expressing concern over ethnic tension in the region and disputative measures aimed at weakening the Muslim World, the two officials called on the Muslim nations to exercise vigilance and solidarity to foil the sedition and move towards securing Islamic nationsˈ interests. Zarif recalled the Supreme Leaderˈs remarks in support of resistance movement to the Zionist regimeˈs aggressions as well as President Hassan Rouhaniˈs special order for stopping human catastrophe in Gaza on the threshold of International Qods Day. ˈIran supports Palestinian nationˈs legitimate demands and the Muslim worldˈs vigilance is a must for the fulfillment of the Palestiniansˈ demands,ˈ Zarif said. He voiced Iranˈs full readiness to dispatch relief and medical supplies to Gaza. Nassrullah hailed the Supreme Leaderˈs recent remarks in support of the resistance movement to Israeli occupation, underlining the need for the Palestinian groups to stand united under the current sensitive juncture. ˈBarbaric attacks on Gaza Strip created a catastrophic human crisis which is a stark example of war crimes against humanity,ˈ he said. Appreciating Iranˈs principled stance at the regional and international levels, Nasrullah said that effective regional and international potentials should be mobilized to oblige the occupying regime to stop the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Zionists.
