Zarif Says Vienna Talks Should Address Concerns Of Both Sides

Tehran, July 14, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Sunday Vienna talks should address concerns of both sides. In a post on his verified Twitter account, Zarif said that trust is a two-way road. He said he is doing his best to reach an accord with the P5+1 and expects his ˈgenuine effortsˈ to be reciprocated by the other side. ˈWe can make history by the next Sunday,ˈ Zarif said, in reference to July 20 which the two sides set as the target date for reaching a comprehensive deal under an interim agreement last November. Iran and the six world nations started their sixth round of talks on June 2 in Vienna in their last effort to meet the July 20 deadline. With crucial differences between the two sides still remaining in place, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton asked foreign ministers of P5+1 member states to join Vienna talks to help settle the remaining issues. US Secretary of State John Kerry and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Vienna today and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius as well as British Foreign Secretary William Hague are also expected in Vienna to join the talks. Russia and China have sent deputy foreign ministers to the talks./end
