Zarif Suggests Iranian-Qatari-Turkish RCS Coordination To Help Palestinians

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif on Sunday suggested coordination among the Red Crescent Society of Iran, Qatar and Turkey to help alleviate sufferings of the Palestinians. In phone calls with his Turkish and Qatari counterparts, Zarif underlined efforts by the countries to expedite humanitarian and emergency supplies to Gaza. He said that in addition to the medical and humanitarian assistance to Gaza, the Palestiniansˈ demand to lift blockade on Gaza and freedom of prisoners of war and reconstruction of the residential areas should be heeded. Zarif told Ahmet Davutoglu and Sheikh Khalid al-Attiyeh that countriesˈ strong support for the resistance groups to meet legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and adoption of necessary measures to prevent Zionist regime from exploiting the current situation should be taken into consideration. The Qatari and Turkish foreign ministers in the phone calls briefed Zarif on their diplomatic efforts at the regional and international level to stop Zionist regimeˈs attacks and establish durable ceasefire. They stressed continued consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and other influential countries in the region to support resistance groups and the Palestinian people./end
