Zarif, UN Chief Discuss Gaza Developments On Phone

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation with Secretary General of the United Nations elaborated on the unfavorable and tragic conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and urged paying heed to their truce demands. ˈIn any truce plan the will of the Gaza people, specially removal the siege of Gaza Strip should be considered,ˈ Zarif said during his phone conversation with the UN secretary general on Sunday evening. The Iranian foreign minister complained about UNˈs passive stance with regard to halting the Zionist crimes, and said that it is necessary for a fact-finding committee to study different dimensions of Israelˈs crimes. Zarif also underlined the need for international cooperation to expedite dispatch of foodstuff and medical aid to the people of Gaza. Ban, for his part, said that he as UN secretary general has tried to bring about a stable ceasefire to Gaza and putting an end to the siege of Gaza as well as helping to humanitarian issues in Gaza./end
