Zionist Regime’s Anti-Iran Remarks Endanger Regional Peace : Envoy

New York, May 26, IRNA - Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaee stressed here on Saturday that the Zionist regime’s war-mongering remarks made against Iran would endanger regional peace and security. In a letter to members of the United Nations Security Council, a copy of which was submitted to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Khazaee emphasized that the recent statement made by the Zionist regime's Defense Minister Ehud Barak on attack against Iran's nuclear sites are unjustified and contrary to international rules. Such remarks are considered as violation of the basic principles of the UN Charter, international rules and a move against the global endeavors to foster regional and international peace and security, he said. Kazaee regretted that such baseless remarks against Iran's peaceful nuclear program are made by officials of a regime possessing nuclear arsenals threatening the regional and international peace and security. He further condemned the Zionists brutal approach against the entire humanity such as occupation of other nations' territories and massacre of civilians. Ehud Barak has recently declared that a military strike against the Iranian nuclear facilities is not out of the question, even though Tehran has reached agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency. He said a nuclear Iran is intolerable, stressing that all options remain on the table./end
