Zionists Plots, Cause Of Desecration Of Uday Shrine In Syria

Tehran, May 7, IRNA – Spokesman of Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that recent desecration of the shrine of Hujr ibn Uday in Syria stemmed from Zionists plots. ˈSuch acts in Syria are made to sow discord among various Islamic faiths and have indicated that Syrian terrorist groups were planning new crimes with the support of foreign countries,ˈ he added. Addressing domestic and foreign reporters at his weekly press conference, Mehmanparst said Tehran has made various consultations and moves to enlighten regional public opinion on what was going on in Syria. Tehran has urged regional states to avoid being involved in the Zionists conspiracies, Mehmanparast said. He said desecration of the shrine of holy Prophetˈs prominent companion in Syria and the Zionist regimeˈs airstrikes on that country which took place shortly after that were correlated. A number of Syrian terrorists have raided the Udayˈs shrine and exhumed his body last Thursday. Uday, a companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is widely revered by Muslims, particularly Shiites./end
