Sadyr Zhaparov to take part in SCO Heads of State Council in virtual format

BishkekJuly 4, 2023. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will take part in the next 23rd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State to be held in the format of videoconferencing.

The next SCO Summit, which will be chaired by India, will be attended by heads of SCO member states: Kyrgyzstan, India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Belarus and Mongolia.

In addition, heads of six international and regional organizations will attend the event: UN, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Commonwealth of Independent States, Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

At the summit, the Islamic Republic of Iran will receive the status of a full member state of the SCO.

In addition, the New Delhi Declaration of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State is expected to be signed, the Statement of the SCO Council of Heads of State on countering radicalization leading to terrorism, separatism and extremism, decisions on approval of SCO Economic Development Strategy until 2030, on approval of the Concept of cooperation of SCO member states on decarbonization of transport, promotion of digital transformation and innovative technologies to achieve higher efficiency, and on approval of the Concept of cooperation of SCO member states in the field of transport.

The 22nd SCO Summit was held in September 2022 in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand.
