4 Iranians among most cited researchers of ESI

Ardabil, IRNA - Three academics and a graduate of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili have been listed among the world's top one percent scientists in accordance with international citations. Jebraeil Razmjou, deputy head of the department of research and technology of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, told reporters on Monday that information released by the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) of the Web of Science (WOS) as well as the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) show the four Iranian researches as the most cited ones throughout the globe. Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is an analytical tool that helps you identify top-performing research in the Web of Science Core Collection. Hossein Shayeghi, Aziz Habibi, Hadi Ghaebi, and Hadi Rostamzadeh have been listed as the most cited researchers for the eighth, third, second, and the first year in a row respectively, Razmjou noted. Hadi Rostamzadeh as one of the graduated students of the university was listed in the ranking, indicating the high quality of education and research at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, the official added. The selection of researchers with the most cited works is being carried out concerning 22 scientific topics, he said, noting that the data, which have been utilized in analyses and selection of top one-percent researchers, have been extracted from the ESI. According to the deputy head, the results of ESI ranking system is being updated bimonthly, which are evaluated on the basis of the number of reference to articles and other scientific products on the renowned web. The University of Mohaghegh Ardabili was set up in 1979 under the name of the agriculture education center.
