Anatomy Boot Camp to be held

Manama, July 1 (BNA): Under the patronage of Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services, the Crown Prince Center for Training and Medical Research, will hold a Human Anatomy Boot Camp in cooperation with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI)’s Medical University of Bahrain. The course will take place from August 24 until September 5 with the participation of surgeons, medical students and interns under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed A. Al Muharraqi, Consultant in Maxillofacial and Neck Surgery. Similar courses are routine in Europe and North America, however, this is the first such course in the Middle East that provides unique academic opportunity for the participants. The course focuses on the consolidation of practical training concepts. Instructors will work in small groups to provide ample time and in a convenient environment that enables the participants to learn the latent features of the human body under the supervision of specialists with many years of experience. The Anatomy Boot Camp ensures 12 hours accredited by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), upon learning hands-on from human cadavers obtained from specialized companies under the supervision of expert anatomists and surgeons. Specialized consultants in medical anatomy and surgical specialists will lecture over 12 days to the participants during the course assigned into six training units: 1-Brain and vertebral column. 2-Face and neck. 3-Hand and shoulder (upper limbs). 4-Lower limbs and pelvic. 5-Chest. 6-Stomach.
