Baku State University, University of Tartu sign MoU

Baku, November 5 (AzerTAc). Baku State University and University of Tartu of Estonia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum will see the two institutions carry out joint workshops and conferences, as well as exchange graduate students and masters in chemistry, biology, mathematics and computer sciences. Under the Memorandum, the universities will also jointly participate in projects and programs. Speaking to the signing ceremony, rector of Baku State University, MP, Abel Maharramov highlighted the history of the higher educational institution, as well as its relations with foreign counterparts. Maharramov expressed Baku State University`s keenness to cooperate with University of Tartu. Rector of the Estonian university Volli Kalm provided an insight into the activities of University of Tartu. The University of Tartu was founded in 1632 by the Swedish king Gustavus Adolphus. It was initially called Academia Dorpatensis.
