Bangkok on alert against dengue fever

BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) - As all other areas of Thailand which are on alert against the spreading dengue fever, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has warned its 50 district offices to be on extra look out for dengue fever, which is on the rise and becoming more severe. Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra presided over the opening ceremony of "Power of Bangkokians" on Saturday (June 29) in Taweewattana District, during which the 50 districts' heads vowed to inform the public of how to protect themselves from dengue fever, while the governor also launched a caravan of vehicles to each district to promote the protection and prevention against dengue fever. Latest statistics issued by the BMA's Health Office show that, from December 30, 2012 to June 22, 2013, there had been 4,633 dengue fever in Bangkok, one of them had died of the disease. (TNA)
