DECEMBER MADE MONTH TO SUPPORT THE DISABLED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Health Minister has issued a resolution to make December a month to protect the rights of the disabled. At the meeting held at the Health Ministry on Friday, organizers--the Ministry, Capital city Health Agency and National Plastic Reconstruction Center, and Down Syndrome Association of Mongolia--shared opinions on the activities to be included in this campaign. The Health Minister N.Udval urged her organizations to aim at improving health services rendered to the disabled, removing the burdens in access to these services, creating a disabled-friendly environments. Within the campaign, medical staffers are planning to run required trainings, counseling on physical and psychological matters and medical examination and awareness-raising day events. At the end of the month, the best hospital for the disabled will be awarded. There are 117 thousand persons with disabilities in Mongolia, 28 thousand of them are children, a study shows.
