Georgia to host conference on natural hazards of Caucasus

Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 29/Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / An international conference opens in Tbilisi on Thursday. The conference is organized by Institute for the Study of Earth of Ilia Chavchavadze State University. According to the university statement, from August 29 to September 3 National Taiwan University, Department of Geological Sciences and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation will carry out I International Scientific and Practical Conference ""Active Tectonics of the Caucasus, magnetism - and the natural hazards and resources." The purpose of the event is the presentation of the latest research of active tectonics of the region and their analysis, discussion of methods for studying the active tectonics and their results, the analysis on the contemporary active tectonics of seismic and other geological threats, introduction to examples of new methods of research and prevention. The main conference sessions will be held at the University from August 29 to 31, and the scientific and practical field seminar will be organized in Stepantsminda on September 1-3.
