Global R&D Leaders & Ceo Forum Eyes 200 Participants

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Global R&D Leaders and CEOs Forum 2015, organised by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), a statutory body under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), is expected to garner over 200 participants globally. ASM president Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said the forum scheduled for Aug 5-6 at the Pullman Hotel in Kuching, east Malaysian state Sarawak, will include researchers, scientists, industry players, policy makers and academics. Themed "Injecting Soul into R&D", the forum aims to get change makers and other stakeholders to come together to pave the way, develop and find solutions to challenges facing humankind such as poverty, malnutrition and climate change, he said. "In Malaysia, about 40 per cent of households are earning less than US$804.12 (RM3,050) a month. This is something that needs our attention," he told reporters at a press conference. Topics to be discussed at the forum include sustainable financing and impact investing, leveraging on social innovation and entrepreneurship, and technology sharing. --BERNAMA
