Health Ministry obtains Canadian accreditation

Manama, June 30 (BNA): The Ministry of Health has received the Canadian accreditation for the third year in a row after achieving 991 per cent of the required quality standards. Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh reiterated commitment to implement the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to provide top services. She hailed results of the assessment, paying tribute to the work team and qualified national cadres for their dedicated efforts. She described the Canadian accreditation, which was obtained for the third year, as reflecting the commitment of health centres to ensure professionalism in 770 required quality standards. This came as she received a delegation representing the Canadian Accreditation Council, who arrived in Bahrain to assess healthcare services and submit their final report. Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare Dr. Manal Al-Alawi. The delegation commended the standard of primary healthcare services, stressing the importance of the achievement regarding the provision of comprehensive health coverage for all society and the sustainability of services. They described Bahrain’s system as being a model to emulate, stressing the importance of initiatives which were launched to step up training and keep abreast of global trends for the sake of patients. Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare Dr. Manal Al-Alawi described the positive accreditation results as reflecting the ministry’s success in in spearheading efficient and ambitious programmes and projects.
