Int’l Seminar of Women in Islamic World opens in Tehran

Tehran, Dec 18, IRNA – The sixth International Seminar of Women in the Islamic World One Hundred Years kicked off in Tehran on Wednesday. Several Iranian and foreign scholars and university professors from Algeria, Austria, Germany, Iraq and Lebanon are taking part in the two-day event. Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the conference, a German sociologist said the gathering is the best venue to talk about the role of Muslim women in the world. Jrmgard Pinn who is also a professor at German faculty of Tehran University described ‘transparency’ as the main issue in settling womenˈs problems in all societies. Lauding the active role played by women in Germany, she expressed hope that Muslim women achieve their due position. Pinn also described the Iranian students as very talented and active.
