Malaysia's Perak Promotes Health Tourism In Medan, Indonesia

From Nordiana Barka NORTH SUMATERA (Medan, Indonesia), April 29 (Bernama) -- The Perak government officials are here in a mission to promote health tourism through a smart partnership programme with North Sumatera, Medan. Perak Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said the move was timely, especially after Malaysia won the Medical Travel Destination of the Year Award at the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) Awards 2015 in London on April 15. "Malaysia is the only country in the region where health tourism is promoted by the government itself. "At the same time, this would assure medical visitors that the quality, regulations, standards and laws in the industry are well observed," she told a press conference after the official launch of the Smart Partnership of the Tourism and Hospital Industry Players to Medan, Indonesia here Tuesday. The Perak delegation consisted of representatives from hospitals in Perak, including Pantai Hospital, Kinta Medical Hospital, Perak Community Specialist Hospital and Lee Eye Centre. Perak, one of the 13 states in Malaysia, is the second largest state in Peninsular Malaysia. --BERNAMA
