MoH Smart Clinic highlights Corona Virus on Twitter

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The government communications department at the Ministry of Health (MoH) has launched an interactive smart service under the title "Get to Know more about Coronavirus". The MoH Smart Clinic hosted Dr. Mohammed Badi, Public Health Specialist, who answered to the enquiries and questions of the followers about the dissemination of coronavirus, symptoms and prevention ways through the ministry's twitter account. Dr. Badi responded to the enquiries of the smart clinic about the corona virus which causes infection diseases ranging between a common cold and severe acute respiratory syndrome. Middle East MERS-CoV is a new species yet to be discovered and can cause diseases for both human beings and animals. Dr. Al Badi also answered the questions about ways of preventing corona virus by continuously washing hands with water/soap or disinfectants especially after coughing or sneezing or using toilets, avoiding the consumption of animal products whether raw or half cooked, using a handkerchief when coughing or sneezing, covering the mouth or nose then throwing them in the basket. He also called all the followers to maintain healthy habits such as nutrition balance, physical activity and enough sleeping hours. Furthermore, Wedad Bu Humaid Director of Government Communications Department at the Ministry of Health stated that the Ministry of Health seeks for responding directly to the public; increasing the health awareness of the followers electronically and disseminating health awareness information among the society members. The interactive smart clinic witnessed positive interaction inside and outside the UAE and also aimed to change the health behavioural trends. Additionally, Al Onood Al Haddad, Project Manager, said: "The interactive smart clinic aims for using modern technology and achieve fast communication with the society members. It also enables the health information to reach the community as fast as possible, communicate with the doctor directly and receive his diagnosis quickly". Speaking about the mechanism of the smart clinic, Al Onood elaborated that the clinic hosts a specialised doctor to reply to the questions and enquiries about various topics. The department also coordinates with the doctor at a certain date and time and selects a topic which is previously announced through the ministry's social media networking for all the ministry's employees. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
