Najib Asks Health Ministry To Be Prepared For Ebola Threat

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak has instructed the Health Ministry to be fully prepared for any possibility in efforts to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus disease (Ebola) to this country. He said for the same purpose, the ministry had intensified Ebola screening at all international entry points in Malaysia. "All hospitals in Malaysia are also in a state of preparedness for any Ebola case identified," he added in his radio broadcast which was uploaded to the website najibrazak.com Friday. The Ebola outbreak was first detected in West Africa and it spread to Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Congo and the United States. To date, more than 4,500 deaths from the dreadful disease have been recorded. Meanwhile, the prime minister also advised Malaysians not to disseminate any false information on the Ebola outbreak. -- BERNAMA
