New Nanotechnologies for Farming Developed in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Different nanotechnologies for farming have recently been developed in the DPRK. The Agricultural Nano Technology Institute of the Academy of Agricultural Science established processes for producing nano-metallic oxides, nano-nonmetallic oxides and nano-organic matters on the basis of supercritical fluid technology. The institute developed 40-odd kinds of nano-materials for over 10 years and manufactured nanotechnology products. Nano-germicide and nano-photosynthetic accelerant have been applied to farming, proving highly effective. In particular, the effectiveness of nano-germicide reaches at 85-90 percent. The institute also succeeded in making nano-silicon fertilizer and nano-functional film. -0-
