President Nominee For Health Ministry Introduced To Majlis

Tehran, March 9, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad introduced Mohammad-Hassan Tariqat-Monfared as his nominee for the post of Minister of Health and Medical Education to Majlis on Saturday. In a letter to Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, the President called on the legislative body to give vote of confidence to Tariqat-Monfared. Tariqat-Monfared was deputy to former health minister Marzieh Vahid-Dasjerdi who was the first female minister in Iran since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Dastjerdi was in the position from September 3, 2009, till December 27, 2012 when President Ahmadinejad appointed Tariqat-Monfared as caretaker of the ministry./end
