Prevention of hand, foot and mouth disease at Thai border continues

BANGKOK, July 22 (TNA) - Thai border officials tighten-up their defenses against the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, after nearly 14,000 cases of infection have been reported. In the northernmost province of Chiang Rai, health experts are sanitising kindergarten schools and child care centres, while authorities at Mae Sai border district continue carrying out body temperature checks on all immigrants from Myanmar. An official notice warns all kindergarten schools and child care centres nationwide in Thailand to immediately send their students below the age of five to hospital if they are found with high fever. Schools are also asked to temporarily close for a week to allow health authorities to sanitise the campus. (TNA)
