Russia dynamically develops scientific and technical projects - Skolkovo official

BEIJING, December 8. /TASS/. The system of implementing scientific and technical projects in Russia, including with participation of foreign capital, is dynamically developing, Chairman of the Board of Skolkovo Foundation Igor Drozdov told reporters on Friday. Skolkovo, which is known as Russia’s Silicon Valley near Moscow, "is a convenient place for foreign companies to start their business," Drozdov said. "In general, the system of incubation (of scientific and technical projects in Russia) is dynamically developing," he noted. "We are communicating with a big number of investors. And dialogue with our Chinese partner Tus-Holdings does not differ from dialogue with Russian investors - it is neither easier nor harder," he said. Last year, investments in Skolkovo reached 8 bln rubles (between $130mln and $140mln), a 30% increase year-on-year, he said. "In 2017, three deals with participation of Chinese investors were signed worth $50mln. Another five projects are under consideration." To increase effectiveness of creating projects on the territory of Skolkovo a convenient format of cooperating between state and private sectors has been created, he said. "The state manages and the operational leadership does not interfere. This allows solving problems effectively," Russia’s delegation from Skolkovo Foundation is paying a visit to China on December 8-11. Besides Beijing, it will visit the southern city of Shenzhen, where the sides plan to work out issues of stepping up bilateral scientific and technical cooperation. Read more
