SCH Announces Recovery of Citizen from MERS-CoV

Doha, October 27 (QNA) - The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) announced today that One of the two MERS-CoV reported cases has completely recovered and discharged home yesterday 26th October 2014. The discharged 43-year-old Qatari was admitted to HMC on 20th. In a press release, issued today, the SCH said all contacts including the patients relatives, friends, and healthcare workers who handled the case were investigated and tested negative for the MERS-CoV. Additionally, they were advised about MERS-CoV signs and symptoms including fever, cough, or shortness of breath besides any possible contact with affected animals or camels. All has been advised to carry out self-monitoring of the mentioned symptoms for 14 days and to visit the nearby health facility once they feel any similar symptoms. In the mean time, the 71-year-old Qatari MERS-CoV patient is still being treated at a Intensive Care Unit. (QNA)
