Special schools still have problems

Oct 27, 2015 | Written by B.Khuder | 0 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Officials led by D.Khayankhyarvaa, a head of the parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and sciences, legged Monday the 63rd and 70th special schools for the disabled children. This visit ran within responsibilities of a working group that has been set by this Standing committee to evaluate the educational environment the disabled children study in and to and formulate proposals for further measures. Authorities and teachers of the schools said that new vacancies and training materials and textbooks are needed, "plus a 'Lunch' programme is not being implemented properly, our salaries are very low, and we also want specialized re-trainings." Located in the UB city's Khan-Uul district, the 63rd special school was established in 1975, it has some 200 children with disabilities. The school’s director S.Erdenebaatar complained that they have not received this year's financing at all. In Bayangol district, the 70th special school has 237 pupils and 53 teachers. "A legal environment must be refined for the educational sector and the teachers' social issues must be taken into consideration," the MP was said. Khayankhyarvaa promised to pass all the problems and complains to his committee and try to place necessary money in the 2015 budget clarification and the 2016 master budget.
